There has been a recent occurance on the Scotish War Memorials Project where members of the forum recieved a Private Message from someone claiming to be forum admin.

This message advised them that they had encountered a virus and that the user should visit a link to remove it.

This message did not come from the admin of this site. DO NOT click on the link if you received this message.

The only administrators of this forum are myself (David McNay) and Adam Brown.

Anyone else claiming to be an administrator is lying.

If you receive any emails or private messages, contact either myself or Adam for clarification. Do not click on any links or open any attachments.

The offending user who sent the PMs has been deleted from the forum. However, they may try again. Please be vigilant and be aware that only myself or Adam have any Admin access. We are the only users that can amend user accounts.

I can only apologise for any inconvenience these messages may have casued - they were entirely outwith our control and we will try to ensure it does not happen again.
