My name is Paul. My father was in 56 Recce and I have collated the Rolls of Honour for all Recce Regiments and am in the process of collecting Photos of Headstones/Memorials to go with them. So far I have collected over 1400 photos. My other project is All CWGC War Graves in W Australia of which I have finished photographing Perth War Cemetery, Fremantle Cemetery, Karrakatta Cemetery, Geraldton War Cemetery and Rockingham Cemetery. I am in Perth W Australia. I started this project while my father was still alive and want to finish it in honour of him and all personnel who served in WWII. Lest we forget.
Cheers

Hello Paul,
Welcome!
That 's a task and a half you've taken on - could you let us know which forum you use in case anyone wants a wee look?
I noticed on your other post that you're looking for a few photographs and I was wondering if you wanted copies of the ones of Trooper William Brown Rew's stone in Bannockburn Cemetery near Stirling? (14297309, Recce Corps, 1st Landing Recce Sqnd., 11.07.1944)
This cemetery is listed on the CWGC database as 'St. Ninian's (Bannockburn) Parish Burial Ground' but is actually just simply Bannockburn Cemetery. (St. Ninian's is a completely different place alltogether!)
He's listed on Bannockburn's Civic Memorial, see:

If you send me your personal e-mail address by PM, I'll forward the photos.
I had a look at the WW2 Forum, but I didn't have a clue how to find anything!
Anne
P.S. I can send you some of Bannockbun Memorial too if they're of interest. |
