Gleaned from poor photocopies of his British Record of Service:

...served with the 11th Hussars and appears to have earned his 14 Star with them. Poor photocopies of his British paperwork indicate:

16 Sept 1902- He signed with the 11th Hussars for a Short Service Contract in Glasgow. Age was stated as 18yrs 5months. He gave his calling as Plumber and noted previous service with the "13th Hussars Purchased". I guess that means he purchased his discharge. He stated he'd be willing to serve with "The Hussars of the Line" and his Medical found fit for such.
16 Sept 05- His Statement of Service shows he served 3 yrs with the 11th Hussars then transferred to the Reserve .
17 Sept 14- Mobilized in Dublin to the 12th Reserve Regt.
08 Nov 14- Posted to the 11th Hussars Expiditionary Force where he where he served in France until
25 Feb 15- Suffered a gunshot wound to the buttocks at Versaille.
15 Mar 15- Posted to the 12th Res Regt
15 Sept 15- Discharged from them in Aldershot as a Pte for the noted reason of "termination of his first period of engagement".
His Character was noted as "Good" and that he wished to return to his profession of "Shipping Clerk".

Died of Sickness 18 Jul 17 He was sending his $25 home every month and had a report of bad teeth. I notice they paid him until end-Sep 17 and granted his next of kin a Pension on 09 Sep17. Archibald Henderson left a Wife, Helen Anne, and one Daughter, Margaret D. They lived at 308 Martin and then 44 Ellen Sts in Winnipeg. His Mother was living and at 62 Langside Rd Govonhill Glasgow

He was buried near Family in Cadder Cemetery North of Glasgow as a member of Lord Strathcona's Horse (!??!)

10 May 24(1?) – Memorial Cross sent to Wife and Mother
Not dated – British War Medal and Victory Medal sent (unkn to whom). “Not entitled to 14-15 Star”
30 Jan 86 – Margaret D. North (nee Henderson) from Delta, British Columbia writes Veteran’s Affairs Canada for “replica” medals due her Father as the originals were never found
11 Nov 86 – Margaret writes again
14 Mar 87 – VAC sends Margaret a form letter indicating she is to send $7.00 for a BWM and Vic.

I still want to muck about in the War Diaries some too. I feel I have his original 1914 Star that perhaps was sent to his Mother by the Brtish along with his VM and BWM by the Cdns later. The VM since gone missing. Possibly still in Scotland? Unkn if Margaret paid her $7 for “replicas”.
