Squadron Leader John Child RAF 3rd September 1948 aged 30 years
"In loving memory of a very dear son and brother"

Between August 1948 and September 1948 S/Ldr. Child was the Officer Commanding no. 612 Squadron RAF, which between 10 May 1946 and 14 July 1951 was based at RAF Dyce, Aberdeenshire, Scotland (now Aberdeen airport), and between November 1946 and October 1949 they flew Supermarine Spitfire F.14.

Armed Forces Memorial - John Child born 14th June 1918, service number 33435, stationed at RAF Dyce.
