Commonwealth Roll Of Honour Project
Hi All,
In view of the cost of a photograph from the private websites such as the Maple Leaf Legacy and the BWMP i have decided to start a new Project, the aims of the project are set out below.
I am already working with The Veterans Affairs Canada team and have been working with them for the last year or so. I'm hoping to also be working with a New Zealand and South African goverments who i have been in contact with for the last few weeks.
The Project is called The Commonwealth Roll Of Honour Project and here are the aims.
The aim of this project is to work in conjunction with the governments or similar bodies in each Commonwealth Country to develop or contribute to a source of FREE online information of their war casualties.
Our hope is to include all the information we can, including attestation papers, service records, medal records, war diaries, photographs of headstones and memorials and any other information available.
If you are interested in helping with such a project or you are looking for a relative and would like our help please join our group and become a part of the Commonwealth Roll of Honour Project.
Please email me or PM me should you wish to help or if you have any questions. I hope that you will be able to join the Project and look forward to working with anyone who wishes to help.
A proper website will hopefully be up and running within the next couple of months.
Best wishes

Mike
Thanks for posting on our forum. I see you have a facebook page and no doubt we will see updates on it.

From what we have done here over the last couple of years I know you have set yourself a massive but very worthwhile task. The fact you are offering it all for free is a great service too.
I hope between our War Graves and War Memorials forums you will find plenty to help you.
Kind regards

Hi Adam,
Thankyou for the welcome and i hope that i will be able to contribute to this brilliant project that you have going here. Which brings me onto something i would like to offer the website and all the members here. If anyone is doing any research into any casualty and they are not buried in Scotland please feel free to ask me if i have any information that would be of use to them. Some of the datasheets i hold actually give the cause of death for a casualty, not all but some. Gives information such as Died in Action or died of illness etc.
Its a shame that the facebook page was taken out by my now ex-wife and not knowing the password i can't actually update it. Never mind the website will soon be up and running and that will be updated at least a couple of times a week.
Again many thanks for the welcome and i hope that some of your members would be willing to help with the project. It is a huge task and i really do need all the help i can get, and don't forget, like this forum the photos and information i have will be given for free, not at a blackmail of asking for a donation.
