Hi Folks,
A possible Polish Non-Com???
Today, whilst looking for something completely different, I ended up downloading a DC which was very interesting.
It lists a ZYGMUNT STEFAN DOMITER, one of the Polish lads serving at 58 O.T.U. in Grangemouth who was killed in an aeroplane accident at South Alloa.
I had a look on CWGC to see if there was any sign of him, but it appears he's not listed - at least not where he's supposed to be and under any variants that I can think of

Which states:

Born: 6.6.1917 Hordynia p. Sambor
Unit: R.A.F., Polish
Regiment: 58 O.T.U.
Date of death: 22.11.1941
Grave: MARTON, (ST. PAUL) CHURCH BURIAL GROUND, Lancashire
Plot 12, Grave 214.
Kpr. ucz. pil. Domiter Zygmunt Stefan and Kpr. ucz. pil. Szumski Edward were engaged with Miles Master T8782 over Alloa, South of Clackmannanshire, on an instrument flying exercise.
According to an eyewitness's statement the aircraft was about 500ft when it did a roll and dived steeply into the ground. Both died."
I then tried searching by cemetery (on CWGC) but he's not listed as being buried in Marton (St. Paul's) Church Burial Ground.
The other man who was killed in the same accident (Edward Szumski) is buried in Grandsable Cemetery in Grangemouth in a shared grave with E. T. Lukomski, see: (Page 6)

Hi Jim,
I don't know why my wee brain hadn't absorbed this information previously - I should have known having found loads of Polish, Dutch and dear knows how many other nationality stones on my graveyard wanderings over the years.
It's such as shame that these lads who were serving alongside British forces are excuded, but that's a discussion we'll not get into!
