Quote: | Boatswain Pardy does not seem to be recognised by the CWGC. His name does not appear on the Newmachar cemetery list or on the CWGC website
|
This because his is not a war grave and CWGC cannot therefor commemorate him. Although a member of the Mercantile Marine, he did not die of a war related cause. This might explain why he is absent from the war memorial.
The headstone is a clipped corner CWGC headstone, known as 'Non-World War' Pattern. _________________ Jim
