This because his is not a war grave and CWGC cannot therefor commemorate him. Although a member of the Mercantile Marine, he did not die of a war related cause. This might explain why he is absent from the war memorial.

The headstone is a clipped corner CWGC headstone, known as 'Non-World War' Pattern.
