I believe that this may be the wrong reference for this grave, as this is the same reference for Robert Whyte. There is no mention of John Cockburn Smith on the grave, nor is there mention of any other Smiths. I will contact North Lanarkshire cemeteries department to see if this grave can be located.

If it turns out that John Cockburn Smith is buried in the same grave as Robert Whyte, then please see his entry for the photograph.
