Hi - I'm a volunteer with The War Graves Photographic Project and visit the Angus area regularly to see friends there.
I did the research for the CWGC to trace a relative of a WW1 casualty in Inverkeilor Old Churchyard and am very happy that there will now be a headstone rather than an unmarked grave.
I'm also a volunteer with the Greater Manchester Police Museum, and currently researching for an exhibition for the centenary of WW1 which will look at police officers who joined up. I'm fascinated to see how many Scots we had joining the force - from as far away as Orkney! I can't help wondering what brought them to Manchester.
If anyone is in Manchester do pay the museum a visit - it's free, and open every Tuesday plus Thursdays in school holidays.

Welcome to the forum and great to read about the Inverkeilor research.
The police research looks fascinating, it will be interesting to see if you find any Scottish ex-Manchester Policemen on Scottish headstones and war memorials.
Kind regards
