Details of the the First and Second World War CWGC graves in Craigton Cemetery, can be found on the "Find A Grave" Website.

Click "search for a cemetery" and then type in Craigton Cemetery. Then using the drop down menu click "Scotland."

When you get to the Craigton Cemetery page, click "view all internments." Within that list are all the CWGC graves.

There are 84 casualties of the Second World War buried in Craigton Cemetery.

This total is made up of 15 sailors, 41 soldiers, 21 airmen, 2 Merchant Navy seamen, and 1 member of the Home Guard belonging to the United Kingdom services.

In addition there is 1 Canadian sailor, 2 airmen of the Royal Canadian Air Force, and 1 airman of the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

Thank you for the information on the 'Find a Grave' site.

Obviously none of our volunteers have got round to surveying Craigton Cemetery as yet, so anyone looking for a CWGC grave there has the option of looking at the site.

I'm not too familiar with 'Find a Grave' so I don't know what the charges for photographs are. TWGPP charge £3.00 for a digital image, £5.00 for a 'hard-copy'.

If (and when) any of our volunteers get round to surveying Craigton, high-res photos (although may be watermarked on the site) will be available free of charge.

Findagrave won't show photos. There is, however, a list of the war dead in Craigton Cemetery.

I had a look, but I could only find an alphabetical list. Maybe I'm not using the search correctly! Confused

The CWGC database also offers the facility to search for every CWGC Burial in Craigton (as well as every other Burial Ground containing CWGC Burials), giving Sections and Lairs/Plots.

According to their database, there are 251 CWGC Burials.

I didn't realise, that the CWGC database, offered a facility to search for every CWGC Burial in Craigton and other cemeteries.

I believe that is a better system (for war graves) than Findagrave.

If you click on the names on the Findagrave site, you'll find biographical information. It will be basically the same as the CWGC site.

Is this the Craigton Cemetery that is in Craigton next to Cardonald and a tad away from Pollokshields?
