Hi everyone. I've been a member of the Scottish War Memorials forum for a good few months now as it has helped me into my research into Wigtown War Memorial. I came across this forum as part of the research and found some of the photos of headstones useful. I also noticed that I'd taken some photos of local headstones that haven't been included here. Happy to pick up the cemeteries in the Machars area to support this project using some useful research in the local library based on a survey of headstones carried out in the late 70s/early 80s.

Hi Mike, welcome here too. So much still to do so all help is very welcome. We have some cemeteries/churchyards which have not yet been surveyed and some which may not even be on our list as there are no CWGC listed graves in them and I just was not aware of them.
I will be the first to admit that those cemeteries that I did record can hardly be called thorough and other gravestones may be there to be recorded. I did not research any transcription records and in the limited time available just had a quick read of each gravestone and photographed it to research and record later. Difficult to read stones or overgrown with moss in particular may have been missed.
