This is situated at the foot of Kirkhill Road Penicuik, Midlothian.

There are 5 Commonwealth War Graves situated in this Graveyard.

BIRRELL, WILLIAM GEORGE

Date of Death: 23/08/1918
Age: 59
Regiment/Service: Royal Army Medical Corps
Awards: Twice Mentioned in Despatches
Grave Reference: 162. 3. Near North boundary.

Additional Information:Son of James and Elizabeth Martin Birrell, of Uttershill, Penicuik. Served in Egyptian (1882-85), Burma (1885-89) (Mentioned in Despatches), and Soudan (1898) Campaigns. Also served on Gallipoli and as D.D.M.S., Southern Command. M.B.
