Husband of Elizabeth Millar Cooper.
Son-in-law of James and Mrs Margaret Sangster Cooper.

Formerly Service No. 1606, Prison Guard in the East African Transport Corps.
Died in Devonport Military Hospital en route to Kirkcaldy from East Africa.

Additional Info. Born Kirkcaldy the son of John and Mrs Mary Ann Carstairs Drysdale of Kilvie, Kinghorn, Fife. Died of Cholera whilst in Jalloozie, Punjaub, India.

Within the infantry, the rank of Ensign was replaced by 'Sub-Lieutenant' in 1871. It was the duty of officers of this rank to carry the colours of the regiment.

Additional Info. Sgt. Munro's wife Jane Williamson (1829 - 1919) is buried alongside him. Mrs Munro traveled to the Crimea with her husband and whilst there witnessed the Charge of the Light Brigade.
