John Craig – age 24 – Private (18428) 12th Battalion, Highland Light Infantry.
John was a dairyman at Mark Farm, Twynholm, Kirkcudbrightshire when he enlisted in January 1915. He landed with his battalion at Boulogne in July 1915.
Born 1891 at Dalgig, New Cumnock, Ayrshire.
Son of John and Elizabeth (Slaven) Craig of Kelwood Dairy, Dumfries.

Missing in Action on 25 September 1915 and named on the Loos Memorial, France.
Named on the Twynholm Parish War Memorial and on the memorial and roll of honour in Twynholm Parish Church. |
