I happened upon this website by chance and got quite a surprise to see so much discussion around my great aunt Ray (Rachel) White. Rachel was the sister of my Nanna who is buried in the same grave (Jean Hamilton). The grave plot is now registered in my name and I attend to its upkeep. I wonder if it is through this website that there was a remembrance cross on the grave for the first time in Nov 2008. The story around Ray's death was that she was indeed killed whilst on duty but that the driver of the other vehicle was a GI who was drunk. . I tried to attach a picture of Ray in Uniform but unsure of how to attach?!! So many thanks to the website for answering the exact questions I have been asking |

Hello Murray - welcome to the Forum!
The discussion came about because we didn't know what RWS meant!
The photo of the gravestone can be seen here: (Page 13)

It would be nice to think it was through this site she was remembered with a wee cross on Remembrance Day - but that might just be wishful thinking!
To post a photo, you have to upload it onto Photobucket or another 'image holding' site. Alternatively, get in touch with either me or any of the Moderators by Private Message, enclosing your personal e-mail address then the photo could be forwarded and uploaded by one of us.

Clicked on the reference you gave and immediately got "FORM SUSPENDED" notice which immediately disappeared and then produced BIZHAT.COM home Page.
So whether Murray had the same problem, don't know?

Don't know what that's all about, but thanks for posting Tony. Maybe there's something wrong with the actual link. I don't know how to shorten links although I've been told how to do it at least a dozen times.
This link is to the home page of the Forum and Cadder Cemetery is in the Lanarkshire Section:

Anne
He sent me a PM asking for a copy of her Death Certificate, I said I cannot publish it on the forum but to send me his email and I will send him a copy.
I also asked in return I would appreciate a copy of her photograph so if I receive it I will email you a copy.

Great stuff Tony!
I look foward to 'meeting' Ray after the merry dance she led us all.

I've tinkered with the URL given by Anne above and it should hopefully now take you to Page 13 of the Cadder thread
