Three people are mentioned on this family memorial.

Seaman NORMAN MONTGOMERY
Last address in Lewis: 5 Sheshader,
Son of Malcolm Montgomery, of 6, Sheshader, Stornoway; husband of Isabella Montgomery, of 3, Sheshader, Stornoway, Ross-shire.
Regiment or division: Royal Naval Reserve, HMT Ariel II
Service number: 3391/C
Date of death: 1 January 1919 at the age of 39
Drowned in sinking of HMY Iolaire, was never found
Memorial: Chatham Naval, panel 32
Lewis Memorial: Point (Garrabost)

Bosun MURDO CAMPBELL
Last address in Lewis: 5 Sheshader
Service: Merchant Navy
Date of death: 8 May 1941 at the age of 33
Saved from ship SS Empire Light by German raider Pinguin, lost when that was sunk by HMS Cornwall
Local memorial: Point, Garrabost

Able Seaman NORMAN MALCOLM MONTGOMERY
Last address in Lewis: 17 Sheshader
Service: Merchant Navy
Date of death: 8 May 1941 at the age of 22
Saved from ship SS Empire Light by German raider Pinguin, lost when that was sunk by HMS Cornwall

Date of death: 11 July 1943 at the age of 36
Lost in bombing of SS California off Portugal

Last address in Lewis: 3 Upper Bayble,
Service unit: 1st Scots Guards
Service number: 6241
Enlisted at Glasgow.
Date of death: 11 November 1914 at the age of 31
Killed in action
Memorial: Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, panel 11
Local memorial: Point (Garrabost)

DONALD MACLEOD
Killed in Bastia in 1944 at the age of 22
No CWGC reference

Private ANGUS MACDONALD
Last address in Lewis: Flesherin,
Son of Angus and Annie MacDonald, of Fleshern, Portnaguran, Stornoway.
Regiment or division: 1st Seaforth Highlanders
Service number: 3/7412
Date of death: 22 April 1916 at the age of 20
Killed in action in Mesopotamia
Memorial: Basra, panel 37 and 64
Lewis Memorial: Point (Garrabost)

Went to France in June 1915, Mesopotamia January 1916. Was wounded and sent to hospital in Bombay. Returned to Tigris and was killed the day following his rejoining the Colours in the field.
