There are no CWGC war graves in this cemetery but there are headstones with a 'military' inscription.

This is the burial place of Thomas Anderson in Barmuckity who died the 4th of May 1674 and of Robert Anderson, Commissar Clerk of Murray his son who died the 17th of Oct 1715. Of Janet Hepborn his spouse who died 10th March 1692. Of James Anderson of Linkwood, Provost of Elgin who died the 28th of Aug 1731 age 51. Of Barbara King his spouse who died the 18th of July 1744 aged 53. Of William Anderson of Linkwood, Provost of Elgin who died the 13th of June 1745 age 38 their son likewise. Of Margaret Gordon daughter of Alex Gordon of Cairnfield and spouse to Robert Anderson of Linkwood. Also their son who died the 6th of April 1774 aged 51 and of the said Robert Anderson who died the 4th March 1777 age 61and of Charles Anderson, Manufacturer in Huntly youngest son of Robert Anderson of Linkwood who died the 1st of Nov 1790 aged 30. Capt. Alex Anderson of the 69th Reg. eldest son of Robert Anderson at Limerick in Ireland the 30th of May 1791aged 38 and of James Anderson Esq second son of Robert Anderson of Linkwood who died at Edinburgh the 20th May 1808 aged 51 and of Clementina Gordon daughter of Mr Gordon in Newseat spouse of the said Charles Anderson who died 25th Oct 1813 age 52. Charles Anderson their son and Harriet Routh his spouse who both died and were buried in Aberdeen.

Here lies interred the body of James Brander Esq of Pitgaveny who departed this life 7th Feb 1780 aged 48 years. He was an affectionate husband and a tender parent. Supported the character of an honest man. Lived much respected, died much lamented by his family and friends. Also lies interred the body of Mary his first wife who died 2nd March 1768 aged 30 years. Also John Brander of Pitgaveny died 26th Nov 1826 age 66 years and Lieutenant Colonel James Brander of Pitgaveny died 23rd Mar 1854 age 62.

Sacred to the memory of Francis William Grant Calder Esq. , Surgeon 2nd Regit of Royal Life Guards, London the much beloved son of Jane Calder who died at Elgin 1st April 1847 aged 35 years sincerely and deservedly remembered by all who had the pleasure of his acquaintance. As a useful member of society his loss will be deeply deplored. But by none so much as his bereaved widowed mother as he was to her a father, husband and most affectionate son. He stood high in the mark of his profession and very few….. He gave early promises of his usefulness and continued so up to the close of his early career. In the prime of his life he disappointed the hopes of many but it was ……by himself…of divine providence……

To the memory of Thomas Duncan only surviving son of Captain W G Duncan (Of the Bombay Army) who died at Park Place, Elgin on the 15th Sept 1853 aged 2 years and 9 months. This stone is placed here by his parents.

In memory of the Rev William Gordon MA, Collegiate Minister of the City and Parish of Elgin for a period of 53 years and an ordained Minister for 61 years. He was born at Garmouth 1st Feb 1752 and died at Elgin 19th Sep 1837 and of his wife Catherine Brodie born 30th Oct 1773 and died at Elgin 24th Oct 1840 and of their sons James MA and Stud of Div. born 15th May 1794 died 12th Oct 1814, John MA & MD Surgeon HEICS born 19th May 1795 and killed in battle at the Persian Gulf 2nd Mar 1821, William Grant MA and Stud of Div. born 21st April 1810 died at Hastings 3rd Feb 1831, Adam born 11th Oct 1812 died at St Vincent’s 25th March 1852, Peter born 5th Aug 1789 died 18th Feb 1848. Also of their daughters Catherine born 28th Sept 1805 died 7th Mar 1807, Maria born 6th June 1798 died 28th Dec 1853, Helen born 20th Sep 1801 died 5th May 1836 and Margaret born 29th Sep 1796 died 23rd Nov 1842.

Near this tablet in the tomb of their ancestors lie the remains of Alexander Duke of Gordon who died in June 1827 and of his son George 5th and last Duke of Gordon who died 28th May 1836. Also Elizabeth widow of George 5th and last Duke of Gordon who died on 31st Jan 1864 aged 69 years.

Sacred to the memory of Her Grace Henrietta, Dutchess of Gordon who was the only daughter of Charles Morduant, Earl of Peterborough and Monmouth who conquered Spain. She was born April 3rd 1682 and married in 1706 to Alexander Marquis of Huntly, afterwards Duke of Gordon to whom she bare 5 sons and seven daughters. She died at Preston Hall on the 11th day of October 1760 aged 78 years.

To the memory of Serj Wm Grant late of 42nd Reg who died 10th May 1838 age 62 years. Also his spouse Isabella Laing who died 9th June 1841 age 59 years. And their daughter Ann Margaret Grant who died 9th April 1824 aged 18 months and their Grandson Rodk. McLennan Bisset who died 26th Sept 1853 aged 14 months. Also their daughter Margaret Grant died 30th July 1876 age 62 years and her husband Daniel Bisset died 5th Aug 1876 age 66 years.

And of their son Maj Gen Charles Edward Manley Norie born 7th Aug 1866 died 20th July 1929 and also of his wife Grace Georgina Renolds OBE, born 11th Jan 1876 died 12th July 1975. Erected to the memory of James Proctor, late Cartwright in Bishopmill who departed this life on the 12th March 1847 age 76 years and also in memory of his son and daughter who both died in their infancy. This stone is placed here by his son Sergeant James Proctor of the 2nd Battalion Rifle Brigade.
