David McLachlan....Marine Engineer who was killed on board the transport S.S. Curaca in the explosion at Halifax, Nova Scotia on 6th December 1917 aged 35 years. Interred in Fairview Cemetery.

The "Curaca" was sunk when the French cargo ship "Mont-Blanc" loaded with munitions blew up in Halifax harbour.
As this was an accident rather than due to enemy action David is not listed on the CWGC register
.
