I've been unable to find a CWGC reference to Charles David Scott Mackirdy - I imagine it's one of a dozen variants in spelling that I haven't thought of, however, the following is from SNWM:

My sincere thanks to Margaret Richardson for sending me the following photos of 2 Leicestershire memorials on which Leopold George Frederic Fawcett is listed.

The 1st photo shows Peckleton Church Memorial (name 2nd from top).

These next two are from Kirkby Mallory, which is about 3 miles away from Peckleton. Leopold's parents lived about half way between the 2 villages.

I think I may have solved the mystery regarding Leopold Fawcett and Charles Mackirdy. I found 2 Memorials in Lesmahagow Old Parish Church yesterday and have posted them on the appropriate site. However I will also post here.

From the inscription on the first plaque it states " cousins Eva and Elliott Mackirdy" Is this the answer to the mystery?
