Given the age, I don't believe that Private William Nimmo was serving at the time of his death. I certainly can't find him on CWGC.

Major John Morrison Weir, (TIG) RA.
RA = Royal Artillery?
Any ideas as to what TIG might stand for?

Maybe TIG was just his nickname?

A quick Google search makes me think it might stand for The Inspector General.
That may well be wrong, though. |

The TIG means he was an Instructor Gunnery during the latter part of his career.
Probably serving at the Royal School of Artillery, Larkhill, Wiltshire.
Further to this, The "T" stands for Technical - which in this instance denotes that he worked up through the ranks and was previously an Ack IG or SMIG which are Warrant Officer appointments. |

Thanks Mangonel. I have now added Technical Instructor in Gunnery to the abbreviations thread on the SWMP.
Kind regards
