Down Posted: Fri Oct 09, 2009 11:56 am    Post subject: Hello from County Down, NI Hello, My name is Diane and I have recenty started up a website in commemoration of Irish Guards in WW2, the Regiment that my grandfather and father served with in WW1 and WW2 respectively. Not a lot to do with Scottish War graves you might think ... and you'd be right. However, I am currently preparing casualty lists for other Foot Guards and already have some photo contributions for Scots Guards, from members of another forum (username is dbf there also.) So my reason for joining is twofold. Since I live in NI, I can't contribute any grave photos from Scotland, but I can add those photos I have received for graves overseas. I would also like to know if it is possible to ask for help with war graves of Guardsmen buried in Scotland for use on my website. It is not for profit and offers help and advice to those who are researching their relative's service, as well as attempting to illustrate each name on the Roll of Honour with either a war grave photo or a biography. Still very much in its infancy, but mighty oaks and all that... I am sure you will let me know if I have committed some major faux pas by posting this here or requesting help... entirely unintentional if the case. Looking forward to getting to know everyone. Of course trickier to locate, but if anyone knows of some or stumbles across them, I'd appreciate the information at least.
