The East Lothian Courier on 11th Nov 2010 published a story about the amazing gallantry of a little-known East Lothian hero.

The story is about David Hay, who was born in East Lothian in 1921 and how he recieved the Albert Medal in 1941.

Read the story here. http://www.eastlothiancourier.com/news/roundup/articles/2010/11/11/407142-amazing-gallantry-of-littleknown-hero-is-celebrated/

However I was was doing some research on War graves in Yester Parish Churchyard when I stumbled upon a link to this person.

The family I was researching was that of the Marquis of Tweeddale. (see link below to read the rest)

I have been intouch with the Imperial War Museum, and at time of posting await a reply. I will update when I have something to report.

Ah, the connection between David Hay and 12th Marquis of Tweedale doesn't seem to have been made by the IWM or the East Lothian Courier!

Hopefully your detective work will see more information provided at the IWM.

Cheers

Adam
