Name: LOGAN, GRACE
Initials: G
Nationality: United Kingdom
Rank: Civilian
Regiment/Service: Civilian War Dead
Age: 36
Date of Death: 14/02/1942
Additional information: Nursing Sister. Injured on board S.S. Kuala; died on Pom Pong Island.
Casualty Type: Civilian War Dead
Reporting Authority: SUMATRA
As will be seen above Grace Logan was not a Queen Alexandra’s Nursing Sister She was a Nursing Sister from the Western Infirmary, Glasgow who joined the Colonial Nursing Service and served in Malaya probably at the General Hospital, Singapore. It appears that she was injured by shrapnel when the S.S, Kuala was attacked. She made it to shore on Pom Pong Island but died later the same day; it appears that there is a report in Greater Glasgow News, March 2006 (not sure if that is television or press).
There is no mention of a burial but one has to assume that she was buried on Pom Pong Island and whether exhumed and re-interred elsewhere later I have found no record.

Are the Ross brothers' memorials, and those for James Macdonald & Edward McBarnet inside the church ? |
