"Yesterday forenoon the remains of Stoker Charles Ceiley, of one of her Majesty's Destroyers, who was accidentally drowned on Saturday night, were interred at Ardrossan Cemetery. The funeral procession from the ship passed through the town headed by the band of the 5th Royal Scots Fusiliers playing the dead march."
