I may be guessing here, but the Bellshill area had at one time quite a Lithuanian community, and the spelling of his name on this grave leads me to believe he may have been Lithuanian or some other Eastern European nationality.

The correct spelling is Leonas Lukoševičius. He was Lithuanian, most likely from the south-west of the country, in the area near to Vilkaviškis.
His surname will be pronounced Lukoshevichius.
Leonas is probably related to my family. He lived at the same address as my grandfather, Antanas Lukoševičius, who fought for the British Army in WWI. They lived at 40 New Orbiston and 80 Main Street Bellshill.
The inscription on the grave reads as follows:
HERE IS RESTING BELOVED HUSBAND OF ONA KUMEČIŪTĖ
LEONAS LUKOŠEVIČIUS
DIED ON 28TH OF FEBRUARY, 1919, 46 YEAR OLD
TOGETHER ARE RESTING TWO DAUGHTERS WHO DIED WHEN LITTLE GIRLS.
Their 2 daughters and 1 son died before WWI. I believe they were survived by Jurgis Lukoševičius (George Lucas ?) who maybe lived in Dundee/Glenrothes and Leonas Lukosevicius (Leon Lucas ?) who maybe emigrated to Canada between WWI and WWII.
