Wiston Church is now a private residence. The churchyard is open to the public and there is a small war memorial (three names) next to the entrance gate. I did not have a camera with me on my visit, following up the information in "Wiston and Roberton Churchyards Monumental Inscriptions".

The gravestone reads: This stone is placed here by Thomas Paterson Gillespie (Younger son of Alexander Gillespie of Biggar Park) and Elizabeth Hall Chalmers his wife in memory of their sons who fell in the Great War “At the commandment if the holy one they will stand in their order and never faint in their watches” Alexander Douglas Gillespie of Winchester College and New College, Oxford, 2nd Lieut. 4th Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders (Att.2nd Batt) b. 23.6.1889 killed at the Battle of Loos 25.9.1915 Thomas Cunningham Gillespie of Winchester College and New College, Oxford, Lieut. 2nd Batt. King’s Own Scottish Borderers b. 14.12.1892 killed near La Bassee 18.10.1914. They lie in unknown graves in Flanders, but their grand-parents for 5 generations are buried here, and these 2 brothers were of the 7th generation from James Gillespie d. 1695 and whose grave is in the South West Corner of this Churchyard Pilot Officer John Ronald Gillespie, R.A.F. b. 27.6.1924 killed in action over Germany 7.10.1944 great grandson of Alexander Gillespie of Biggar Park. Flying Officer Ian George Gillespie, R.C.A.F. of Victoria, B.C. Canada b. 17.9.1924 killed in action (Sq#404) attacking enemy Naval Force off Norway 22.12.1943 great great grandson of George Gillespie of Biggar Park.
