Rather than have everyone saying hello in their own separate thread, can we keep them in this specific thread for introductions.
It's a housekeeping exercise and should mean the forum doesn't get cluttered.
Thanks,
David

I decided on balance to register as Spoons because that is how I registered on the War memorials forum. Paul Goodwin is the name, War Memorials in Dumfries and Galloway is my game.

I really only pressed the button once - honest and I meant it to go in here as well.

I think you could try 2 things to 'shepherd' all the introductions to the new section:
1. change the post title to something like 'New Members Introductions - add to this post only.
2. delete all incorrect posts (not just lock them) this would mean that others were less likely to follow in the footsteps

"I have a solution in mind..."
I hope that it doesn't involve the banishment of Richard or me!

Hello
I've joined the Forum because I have a family grave to upload. So this is the first of my five posts.
My poppy is in memory of my dad, JACK LEWIS, and his colleagues at Lady Haig's Poppy Factory, Edinburgh, who must have made millions of remembrance poppies over the years. _________________ Mary Young

No, not yet it doesn't!
Solution now online - a dedicated members section which, in order to avoid clutter, will automatically remove posts not replied to after 14 days.
By that point any new members should have made a few more posts, so the need for an "introduction" should hopefully not be needed. |
