This Forum has been set up by a group of like-minded enthusiasts who share an interest in Scottish war graves. The hope is that it will be a place to share information about memorials and a place where members can help each other with their research. To make this a friendly forum to visit and use there are a few guidelines which should be followed:

* Please DON'T SHOUT. Using capital letters on a forum is generally considered to be shouting. Lower case text is more friendly.

* Posts that are abusive, threatening, or in any way offensive are not acceptable. The forum is moderated and any posts which breach this guideline will be removed and the member warned.

* This is an English language forum. Please make sure your posts can be understood by anyone visiting the site. If you do use another language please provide a translation. Please also refrain from using "text speech" - "you are " is preferable to "U R".

* Please read over any post you've typed before submitting it. Make sure it is clear to everyone what you are trying to communicate. What may seem acceptable to you may not be taken the same way by others.

* If you feel aggravated by a post please do not reply immediately, take your time before replying and keep it civil.

* Keep the information in the posts to the subject being discussed. Personal attacks are not acceptable. Any posts which breach this guideline will be removed and the member warned.

* It's OK to point out errors or inaccuracies in other posts but keep it civil, and if you are correcting another's mistake please be prepared to be corrected yourself another time.

* If you feel that someone is breaching these guidelines and it has not been picked up by a moderator please let a moderator know. The Moderator will then take any necessary action they feel appropriate. Private complaints made to a moderator will be treated in confidence.

* Members who breach any of the guidelines will be warned and if the situation warrants it will be removed from the forum.

* Moderators decisions are final.

The Moderators are currently David McNay and Adam Brown in addition to several "area" moderators who look after their particular regional section.

A further guideline which was kind of an unspoken rule, but I'm now making official:

Can we please make sure that when we post the grave photographs that each individual grave is given its own separate post.

It may well be that moderators may wish to add in further information on an individual and it will be easier to do that if there is a separate post for each man or woman.

It also makes it easier for someone searching for an grave photo. They can go to a specific post and not go through one massive post for one particular photo.

I know of two occasions where this has not been done and while it wasn't a rule at the time, I'm making it so now.

Thank you,

David

That's exactly the question I had asked, thanks David, I will add the photos to the thread I have started - when I have passed the 5 post/5 day test!
