I visited the CWGC Workshops at Beaurains on 2nd June this year. Hopefully the following photos will give a flavour to the work that the Commission carry out in France and beyond. If in the Arras area I would recommend a visit to the workshops. The following two photos represent some of the work undertaken for the Fromelles (Pheasant Wood) Cemetery. The headstones in the foreground were awiating delivery to the cemetery. The following three photos show the intricate work required to repair the gates at the Pozieres Memorial. This was the work of one of the skilled craftsmen at Beaurains. Repair to a Cemetery Register Box All new and replacement headstones are engraved using computer aided design.
