OS map ref: NT58701095

Contain no CWGC graves BUT it does contain the final resting place of Alexander Ponton who died of illness in 1916 after service with the 1/4th KOSB.
As the family lair cannot be located in this cemetery Alex is commemorated at Brookwood:

Interesting that the words on the plaque are taken from those found on Memorial Scrolls given to the next of kin:

Name: ELLIOT, ALEXANDER SHIELS
Initials: A S
Nationality: United Kingdom
Rank: Lieutenant
Regiment/Service: Highland Light Infantry
Unit Text: attd. 8th Bn.
Age: 22
Date of Death: 28/06/1915
Additional information: Son of William Elliot, of Muirglen, Lanark.
Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: Panel 173 to 177.
Memorial: HELLES MEMORIAL

See also: St. Nicholas Church, Lanark

The name on the far awy panel relates to Walter Elliot Elliot:
