I posted details of a man mentioned on a gravestone in Ballengeich Cemetery and at the time I thought U.S.I. would be United States Infantry. Can anyone confirm this and is there anywhere to check for Americans?
The MI reads:
"JOHN CAMPBELL BETT, U.S.I., died at Langres, France 12th February 1918 aged 28 years.
Son of James and Christina Bett (nee McLaren)

Thanks Paul,
I had tried that site earlier but I couldn't find him on it either.
It was a wee niggle that perhaps my presumption about United States Infantry was wrong and that it was just a co-incidence his date of death was during WW1. I suppose this is just another one of these little mysteries for my collection!
