OS Map Ref NX 692 513
From the centre of Kirkcudbright, a few hundred metres up the B727 towards Whinnieliggate on the left hand side. The cemetery is extremely hilly in parts and care must be taken. There are a large number of very old stones, many well worn and difficult or impossible to read. Kirkcudbright is also on a tidal river so the sea air will make things worse. I have photographed all those inscriptions I could find but I expect there will be others amongst these older stones.
Number of CWGC burials 16. Although there is no mention of them on the CWGC website, I also found 2 MOD gravestones which are presumably in CWGC care.

This group of memorial stones are just inside the main entrance to the graveyard.
The five men here are only a few of the over 500 casualties resulting from the sinking of the Royal Mail Ship Leinster which was torpedoed in the Irish Sea on 10 October 1918.
There are other CWGs at Kirkbean (1), Kirkandrews (1), Sorbie (1), Whithorn (1) and Portpatrick (1).
