I picked up the message below submitted through the SMRG website. It is from Graham McIntosh from Montrose.

I know from other posts that there are still some German graves around the country even though most have been moved to Cannock Chase. Perhaps one of our local members could help with Graham's query?

First may I say congrats on the excellent pages on war graves at Sleepyhillock, Montrose. Now a question - at a recent show we were told that a German airman was still buried at Sleepyhillock, from the Ju88 crash at St Cyrus. The person was insistant about this. He was to come back to us with site details etc but so far nothing. Have you any information on this? I thought that the aircrew had all gone to Cannock Chase when it was set up.

All the best,
Graham McIntosh pp MASHC.

Adam

maybe Mr Graham McIntosh could email Angus Council via their website and ask them at the Cemeteries and Parks Dept to check their registers for Sleepyhillock Cemetery, Montrose to see if the WW2 German airman is still buried in that cemetery or were moved south to their German Cemetery in Staffs .

I know that the two German Airmen of WW2 that were shot down over Arbroath in that war and were buried at the Eastern Cemetery at Arbroath were re interred in England during the 1950s .
