Received information from Iain Anderson, Regional Supervisor Scotland CWGC that headstones are to be placed at the graves of casualties now listed under the CWGC . The CWGC headstones are to be erected next week .

The names of these casualties are:

Pte DH Duncan, Cameron Highlanders death date of 18 th December1919.

Pte M G Gillespie, Scottish Horse, death date 4 March 1917

Staff Sgt R T Henderson , Royal Army Service Corps death date 29 December 1918

Pte Husband , The Black Watch death date 21 September 1917

Also placing a Pedestral Marker in front of a family memorial which is no longer adequate in Perth Wellshill Cemetery :

Pte W Sword , The Black Watch death date 3 May 1918

A few months ago Iain Anderson , Regional Supervisor Scotland of the CWGC informed me that the Commission had erected in this Wellshill Cemetery Perth a headstone to

Second Lieutenant A D MUIR, The Black Watch , death date of 12 April 1917 , aged 30 years .

These casualties have just recently been confirmed as CWGC casualties under the Commission requirements and their graves would appear to have not been marked by any family headstone .

I thank Mark Duffy and Jim ( from Aberdeenshire ) for their researching to prove the 2nd Lt AD Muir , BW casualty and who a few months ago had a commission headstone erected at his previously unmarked grave. These other casualties are from Monday 11 July 2011 will have their Commission headstone marker at their graves so that visitors to the cemetery and relatives too can visit their family member of the Great War buried in Scottish soil .

Recent research has shown that Private Robertson is buried here. The Commission is in the process of producing a headstone to mark his grave.
