Hello there
I am hoping that members have some knowledge of a problem I may be facing with regard to transfering burial rights to the CWGC? I am hoping that someone can advise me.
I succeeded in getting 'my' Alexander Petrie recognised as WW1 war dead recently (buried Blairgowrie Cemetery) and yesterday I have had a further contact from the CWGC asking if the family wished to transfer the burial rights over to them. The family would like to do this and hand over responsibility of the grave but we have to forward Deed of Grant and/or any documentation in relation to the burial rights to CWGC Legal Dept.
Because of significant deaths and family siblings separated, no family member holds such documentation. Is there anyway to try and source this documentation retrospectively or does anyone know how we can attain this transfer without it?
Any advice will be gratefully appreciated. Heather |
