Did you find all the headstones you were looking for in Morningside Cemetery? If not, there is a pair of books written by the Morningside Association (1980s?) indexing all of the names that they found on headstones in the cemetery. There is a map of the cemetery in the books to help you find your way around - particularly to the detached part (well out of sight) beyond the houses of Morningside Court and Balcarres Court that were built on cemetery ground in the early 1970s.

The books are certainly in the Edinburgh Room of Edinburgh Central Library, and I would expect to find them in Morningside Library too.

As far as I'm aware I am only missing 1 CWGC grave and who knows about the rest....some are obvious and some are not.

I work in Morningside, so I will pop into the library and have a look, thankx for pointing me in that direction.

Personally I think it is terrible to sell off parts of a cemetery......what happens to all the graves and the people buried there? Were the families consulted before they sold off where their loved ones were buried? Terrible!
