Sacred to the memory of James Smith Henderson 1/9th Royal Scots who died 10th February 1919 in his 21st year also Mary McCormack beloved wife of James Henderson who died 7th February 1936 aged 64 years also the above James Henderson who died at Aberdeen 10th Jan 1946 aged 75 years.

This stone is not in Section F as stated on CWGC list, it is in Section E, and boy did I have "fun" trying to track it down!!!! By the look of the undergrowth round it, I do not think it has been moved.

SNWM: Born Delting Shetland, died R.A.F.V.R. F.C.




In ever loving memory of Allan Cruickshank Hendry Sgt Pilot RAFVR of Voe Shetland killed on active service21st October 1941, also of G A Maxwell Hendry MB, ChB died 29th November 1945 sons of Dr and Mrs G F Hendry.

It looks like the CWGC stone had been fixed to the back of the family stone at one time. There is also a groove carved into the CWGC stone to correspond with that on the family stone.


Lieutenant G F Kay Border Regiment 16th September 1919 aged 32, "Until the glorious dawn".
(Family stone) In loving memory of John Kay died 26th June 1912 aged 59 and his wife Robina Hoggan died 9th April 1916 aged 57 also their sons Robert Bruce died 12th June 1918 aged 21, George Frederick died 10th Sep. 1919 aged 34. (Age seems to differ on family stone)
