I have included this grave of Robert McDill because he is listed on the Urr war memorial and is recorded as having died of war wounds. Not listed on CWGC, enquiries are continuing.

Edit 16 July 2010 - Ken Morrison has just inforormed me that William, George and John Cannan were Triplets all born 6 March 1895. John the oldest, George the youngest. Sadly their mother, Jane, died 3 days later

David Walker, lost his life in the sinking of the Lusitania, May 7 1915.
(Transcription)

Son of William David Walker and Mary (McGaw) Walker, he was born at Nook Farm, Balmaghie in 1882.
He was Secretary to Dr. Frederick Stark Pearson an American Consulting Engineer. See www.rmslusitania.info

Sadly this stone is now almost illegible.

This man's status as a possible "non-com" is under review by Jim Grant (Kinnethmont) and Stuart Wilson (Stewartry)

James McIver, Private (35257) Hampshire Regiment. He died, after discharge, on 3rd October 1918 at his home in Bridge of Dee, Balmaghie.
He is listed on the Balmaghie WM as M'Ivor.
