In the Earl Of Dalhousie plots within this old churchyard is the following headstone over the grave :
16th Earl of DALHOUSIE , Simon Ramsay, MC , formerly BLACK WATCH
Major 4/5th Bn (commissioned 2nd Lt 1937 and captured after the battle of El Alamein and escaped in Italy ).
He married Margaret Stirling , a sister of Col Sir A. D. Stirling DSO in 1940 . She preceded the earl and he died 15 July 1999.
.
[patrick w anderson]
I recall that the headstone next to the 16th Earl is that of the 15th Earl and I think he died of wounds or effects of war from the Great War...
