Gentlemen (and women)
I renew on this forum the offer done on the Scottish War Memorials Project forum, (here) and which must be more adapted here.
My apologies for a (quite) imperfect English, but browsing the web I found your forums, and searching "Valenciennes" in it I obtained many answers .
Most of them are related to soldiers buried in Valenciennes St Roch Communal cemetery. My first think was "perhaps would they like a photograph of the graves"
I'm living close to the St Roch cemetery, and working at Mount Houy University, the last strong spot of German defence up to November 2, 1918 when Valenciennes was liberated by Commonwealth troops ( My father, 12 years old, was among the liberated people)
You'll find a panoramic view of Valenciennes Cemetery, made by a friend with our (we are many correspondents) photographs, at this address : http://www.todayisfree.com/360.php?id=215 the web site is http://www.todayisfree.com/
Don't hesitate for queries around my town, (Aulnoy, Famars, Le Quesnoy Sebourg and more far) it will be a pleasure, (the first 2 cemeteries are in the site above) then give me an e-address by MP for high resolution photographs.
The official part of my life is consecrated to mathematics (but I'm close to retirement), we have three daughters and a son, and a grandson.
Cordially

Hi,
There is a strong rule !! (5 posts-5 days) for photographs. I took this afternoon some photographs of graves in Valenciennes cemeteries, you'll must wait 5 days, but for the 5 posts, you must talk to me ... I hope I'll can create a new thread in Overseas burials "Scottish War Graves in France"
I try "quand même" for a picture (waiting to see it) : ...There is something which I did not understand .....
Cordially

It may be that we no longer have the five day/five posts rule. This may have something to do with us removing the advertising.
I'll look into it and report back.
Oh, and welcome to the forum. |
