Sacred to the memory of Sergt. George Sellar, VC, died 1st Nov 1889 aged 39 years.

Erected to the memory of a brave soldier, by the Officers, Non Commissioned Officers,and men of 1st. Batt. Seaforth Highlanders and by F Coy. and the permanent staff of the 1st Sutherland Volunteers.

On 14 December 1879 at the Asmai Heights, near Kabul, Afghanistan, Lance-Corporal Sellar led the attack under heavy fire and dashing on in front of the party up a slope, engaged in desperate conflict with one of the enemy who sprang out to meet him. In this encounter Lance-Corporal Sellar was severely wounded.

Their eldest daughter Christina died at Stittenham, Ardross 20th May 1968 aged 91.

And the said Donald MacLean who died at Invershin in his 86th year on 20th Dec 1928 and their children who also rest here Peter MacLean, 9 died 29/10/84, David MacLean, 6 died 15/10/84, Hector Maclean, ½ died 14/3/87. In the Great War 1914-1919 Alexander MacLean, 26 lost in Gallipoli 2/5/15. Thomas MacLean,34 killed in France 24/6/17. Kemp Maclean, 38 killed in France 28/3/18.

In loving memory of James MacKay who died at Sydney House, Lairg 5th Aug 1901 aged 56 years and of his wife Annie MacDonald who died 15th Jan 1925 aged 80 years. Also of their younger son Hector MacKay, JP of Craggie and Dola who died at Sydney House 26th April 1965 in his 86th year. Inger Hjelt MacKay, order of The White Rose of Finland born Abo 22-6-1915 died Lairg 10-5-1973 younger daughter of Allan Hjelt of Helsingfors, mother of Patricia and Henry, beloved wife of Graham MacKay. In loving memory of Graham Hector Caryle MacKay born 22.12.1907 died at Sydney House 21.6.1954 second son of Joseph MacKay of Lairg and Nairn.

To the memory of Hugh MacKay 2nd son of the late Rev T MacKay. Captain in the 4th Reg Madras Cavalry and a Commissary to the staff of the Army. He was born in 1763 and having served his country 24 years he fell in the regiment of Victoria at the muzzle of the enemys gun in the memorable Battle of Assaye, fought between Gen Wellesey and the Mahrattas 23rd Sep 1803. In him were united form; Kindness with heroism, extensive munificence with rigid integrity. A son, brother, relative and friend. He was attached with discriminating tenderness & constancy in ….skilful in Business, prompt, judicious, decided & scrupulously faithful to a trust presenting strong temptation to….

Erected to the memory of William, 3rd son of The Rev T MacKay who was born in 1770 died Calcutta 1804, Naval Commander, author of Narrative of the Shipwreck of the Juno 1795.…….

In loving memory of Annie Baddons beloved wife of Angus MacNeill who died at Riverview, Lairg on 11th Jan 1928 aged 64 years. Their sons John who died on 14th July 1897 aged 21 Months. Chesborough Alexander, late RSM 4th Batt Q O Cameron Highlanders who died on 18th Aug 1949 aged 59 years beloved husband of Isabella Charker who died at Inverness on 11th Oct 1962. And the said Angus MacNeill, retired Headpostmaster who died on 27th Nov 1956 aged 62 years. Aeneas John who died 4th July 1967 beloved husband of Mary Martin.
