Regiment/Service: Seaforth Highlanders
Unit Text: 5th Bn.
Age: 17
Date of Death: 26/01/1915
Service No: 721
Additional information: Son of Mary McKenzie Ross (formerly McLean), of Oriel Cottage, Langwell, Ardgay, Ross-shire, and the late John McLean. Born at Lochbroom, Ullapool.
Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: In North-West corner.
Cemetery: CROICK PARISH CHURCHYARD

Additional information: Son of Mrs. Margaret McPherson, of Langwell, Strathcarron, Ardgay, Ross-shire; husband of Nurse McPherson, of Johannesburg, South Africa. Served in the South African Campaign.
Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: East of Church on boundary.
Cemetery: CROICK PARISH CHURCHYARD


Sacred to the memory of Donald MacPherson, Shepherd, Lochconich who died 8th Oct 1908 aged 79 years and his son Alexander SAS died at Heidleberg Hospital SA 2nd June 1904 aged 28 years. Also his sons William died at Saldwell, Idaho, USA from a driving accident and exposure 9th Feb 1890 aged 32 years. John died at Dingwall 30th March 1915 aged 42. He served with distinction in Lord Lovats Scouts SA War 1899-1902. And his daughter Margaret died 5th July 1925 aged 36 years. Also his wife Margaret MacLeod died 22nd April 1932 aged 89. And their daughter Charlotte MacPherson died 8th Jan 1941.

Additional information: Son of Mrs. I. Ross, of Heatherlea, Gruinards, Ardgay, Ross-shire.
Casualty Type: Commonwealth War Dead
Grave/Memorial Reference: Panel 37 and 64.
Memorial: BASRA MEMORIAL


Erected in memory of Isabella Ross beloved wife of George Ross, Gruinards died 11th March 1935 aged 76 also her son Pte. William R Smeaton died of wounds 24th April 1916 aged 28. Also the said George Ross died 2nd Jan 1956 aged 90.

To the memory of Harry William Algernon Kemmis, Commander Royal Navy, born Kilmeen, Mountmellick, Ireland 7th Dec 1894, died at Gruinards 22nd May 1970 and of his wife Grace Margaret, born Taunton, Somerset 26th July 1904, died at Gruinards 15th Sept 1987.
