Son of Harry and Ada Louise Setterfield, of Minster, Ramsgate, Kent; husband of Jessie Margaret Setterfield.
Regiment/Service: Royal Navy, H.M.S. Curacoa

Date of death: 2 October 1942, at the age of 39
Interred: PORT MOR CEMETERY, Isle of Muck

There is a book called " Queen Mary & the Cruiser The Curacoa Disaster " by David A Thomas and Patrick Holmes ,1997 . (sub Lieut Patrick Homes RN ( Air Defence Officer ) and Capt Boutwood were the only OFFICERS to survive from the crew of the HMS Curacoa).

The sinking of the HMS Curacoa happened on 2 October 1942 but the Admiralty did not officially announce the loss until May 1945 .

Also published " Scottish Disasters " by Donald M. Fraser, 1996 - chapter " Hit & Run at Sea : The Queen Mary & the Cruiser.

Published article : Scottish Genealogy Society Journal December 2002 : " HMS Curacoa : 2 October 1942 and the Scottish Casualties " by Patrick W Anderson.

Also " Mallaig heritage " website re HMS Curacoa with relatives of casualties updating that website on the WW2 sinking .
