This is the Gordon Mausoleum. I have no idea who Gordon was or if he had any military connections but the inscription includes a military rank so I have included it. Several internet resources claim that this mausoleum was built in 1878 but the inscription shows that it is much older.
"Until the day break and shadows flee away"
Rebuilt by Col Wm Maxwell Anno 1710
??? rebuilt by Sir Wm Maxwell Bart Anno 1878

The gravestone shows Private Robert McTaggart died in hospital 13 January 1916 aged 38 years interred at Liverpool. He is listed on the Gatehouse and Anwoth church memorials but I have found no other information.
