In Kelton Old Churchyard, near Castle Douglas. "Also John McGeorge his son who fell in the Charge of the Light Cavalry at Balaklava 25th Oct. 1854. Aged 25 years." Gordon was still alive in the early 1900s to tell his grand-neice about the Crimea and Indian Mutiny. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/people/obituary-winifred-shand-1466306.html He was born in 1830.
