Hi everyone,
If anyone is near the Flotta Parish Churchyard would it be possible for you to take a picture of a headstone for me.
It is of RMA/1508 Gunner JS Fergusson Royal Marine Artillery
He was aboard HMS Cyclops II when he died on 13 November 1915.
I am producing a book about the men of Melksham in Wiltshire who are remembered on the town memorial and Gunner Fergusson is one them. If this is possible I will of course give due reference for the picture and any additional information.
Many thanks in advance

For reference, Flotta is an island in Scapa Flow south of Mainland Orkney, graced by a large oil storage depot. The church is located 2 miles from the ferry terminal, on the southern side of the island at grid reference ND 366931. It can be reached by ferry from Houton (near Orphir) on Mainland. |
