This stone is placed here by William Forbes, Merchant, Inverness in memory of his father James Forbes, Ensign in Glengarry Regiment of Militia, who died 30th May 1830. And his mother Marjory Fraser who died 7th Nov 1850. Also of his brother James Forbes, Merchant, Inverness who died 4th Aug 1859.

Captain Horace Leonard Kemble MVO Late Scots Guards born April 22nd 1882 died Dec 29th 1966. Also his wife Phyllis Mary Fraser born June 6th 1890 died Feb 25th 1984.

In memory of John Smith, late 78th Reg, died at Dores 14th Aug 1884 also his beloved wife Margaret MacKenzie died at Inverness 11th July 1899.

Sacred to the memory of Donald Whyte, for 55 years Teacher at Dulaird died on the 15th day of May 1853 aged 71 years and of his beloved wife Catherine McNaughtan who died on the 20th day of June 1856 aged 49 years, whose remains rest at the foot of this monument. Also to the memory of their dear children, Isabella who died on the 21st day of July 1854 aged 20 years, Donald who fell at the Siege of Sebastobol on the 17th day of April 1855 aged 19 years, Jessie who died on the 4th day of April 1857 aged 14 years and Mary Ann who died on the 24th day of May 1857 aged 17 years and 6 months.
