Here rest Murdoch Stewart of the Bute family, late Tacksman of Tarradale, Gilchrist and B?, grandson of Colonel Murdoch Murchison who led the MacKenzies, MacRaes and MacLennans at Culloden and whose brother Colonel Donald Murchison was Commander of the above Forces after Sheriffmuir where their Uncle Major John Murchison was killed, and Commisioner on The Seaforth Estates from 1778 to 1824 and who died July 1830 in his 66th year. His wife Mary MacPherson, daughter of Lieut John McPherson of the Gordon Highlanders who died April 1852 in her 80th year. And their daughter Helen Ann who died in 1836 in her 37th year. Barbara Stewart died 11th Nov 1885. Elizabeth Stewart, widow of Alex MacCall, ? Officer, Fyvie died 20th Dec 1887. Her daughter Elizabeth MacCall died 24th May 1886.

In memory of Captain John Chisholm of the 21st Reg who died day of Nov 17--. As likewise of Major James Chisholm formerly of the 21st Reg and late of the North Fencibles who died the 10th of Feb 1789. Both buried in this grave. This monument is erected by their loving brother Dr William Chisholm, late Provost of Inverness.
