Memorial: THIEPVAL MEMORIAL

Erected by Elsie & Colin Campbell, Glenshiel in cherished and undying memory of their devoted sons. John killed in The Great War on the Somme 10th Jan 1917 aged 25 years. Donald who served through The Great War including Egypt and Palestine, contracted malaria which hastened his death at Shiel 24th Feb 1927 aged 31 years. Also their dear son Simon who died on 9th Feb 1983 aged 91 years.

In loving memory of John Fraser died 8.9.25 aged 85 and his beloved wife Elizabeth MacDonald died 10.2.23 aged 81. Also their son William Donald, killed in action Ypres 26.3.18 aged 34 and his beloved wife Margaret Ann MacRae died 16.4.66 aged 85. Their son Dr William Donald Fraser died 20.7.2000 aged 81.

[Mod Edit Adam - Pte Wm Kessack is listed on the Buckie War memorial]



In loving memory of William Kessack died 24th April 1904 aged 40 years and of his wife Mary Ann Calder died 24th Feb 1934 aged 72 years. Also of their son William Ogilvie died of wounds in France 22nd Oct 1918 aged 22 years.

Captain Archibald MacRae Chisholm who served many years in her majesty’s Black Watch ………..died 1897. This cross is raised to his beloved memory by his sorrowing widow Maria Frances.Maria Frances Chisholm (Lynch)……………………died 1912.
