Just wondering if anyone is familiar with the finer points of copyright law regarding information supplied on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission's website. I have incorporated it on my websites for Lewis tributes as well as on this forum, but would like to know what the position is should I decide to bring that out in print. |

You cannot copyright information but you can copyright a form of words, artistic design, layout etc. So you cannot copy the CWGC information word for word in their own layout but providing you rearrange it a little, perhaps change the order of the items, put them in a list instead of table or using a different font. Any of these should put you in the clear but have a chat with the librarian in the local large library, they are usually quite knowledgeable on copyright.
